Heritage Community Farm partners with Whale Branch Schools in Northern Beaufort County to promote hands-on learning through gardening and connecting to the natural world.
Food Security
Heritage Community Farm addresses food insecurity with numerous gardens, planted and harvested by students, to distribute fresh vegetables to their families and the community.
Conservation
Heritage Community Farm promotes environmental awareness with a pollinator garden, bluebird boxes, and an outdoor classroom for students to study the interactions of nature.
Preservation
Heritage Community Farm honors the Gullah farming history of Beaufort County by giving students an opportunity to grow healthy foods on a campus that was once a farm.
Our mission
Heritage Community Farm identifies underutilized land in Northern Beaufort County, South Carolina, to return to productive use for education, food security, conservation, and historic preservation.
School and community gardens, along with pollinator and historic gardens, will support Growing Together to plant, produce, preserve, and promote environmental awareness.
